Professor Musadiq Amin Sahaf is Professor and Head of the Department of Commerce at the Central University of Kashmir, Ganderbal, Kashmir. He started his academic career from the University of Jammu as a Lecturer in Commerce in 1985. Subsequently, he served the Department of Commerce, University of Kashmir as Lecturer; Institute of Management and Public Administration, Srinagar as Associate Professor and University of Kashmir as Professor of Strategic Marketing, Director of The Business School, Dean of the Faculty of Commerce and Management Studies and Dean Academic Affairs. He has also served at American University of Asia, Sharjah (UAE) as Professor and Dean, Faculty of Business Administration.

Professor Sahaf has been teaching for the last thirty eight years and has been rated as an excellent teacher by students in the various surveys. He is the author of several books and articles and papers. His books entitled ‘Marketing of Horticulture Industry in India’ (1986), Marketing: An Introduction’ (1989), ‘Management Accounting and Control’ (1991), ‘Management Accounting: Principles & Practice’ (2000, 2009 & 2013), ‘Principles of Marketing’ (2001), ‘Strategic Marketing: Making Decisions for Strategic Advantage’ (2008 & 2019), ‘Strategic Cost Management’ (2017), and ‘Corporate Governance’ (2017)   are rated as standard texts in their respective subjects. During the past two decades, he has also published more than 75 articles in national and international journals including African Journal of Business and Management, South Asian Journal of Tourism Heritage, Decision, International Journal of Bank Marketing, International Journal of Management Prudence, International Journal of Management and Business Inventions, Management & Change, Journal of Marketing & Communication, The Indian Journal of Commerce, Indian Journal of Training and Development, Paradigm, Abhigyan, NMIMS Management Review, Business Perspectives, Productivity, Prestige Journal of Management & Research, Synthesis, Survey, Indian Management, Indore Manager, Udyog Pragati, Pratibimba, IMS Manthan, and The Business Review. His research interests include Competitive Strategy and Intelligence, Retention and Partnering Marketing, Service Marketing and E-marketing.

Professor Sahaf has directed a number of General Orientation Programmes and Refresher Courses in Commerce and Management Studies for university and college teachers. He has also made numerous presentations at various workshops/ training programmes organized for business executives and academicians. He has participated in a number of seminars within and outside India. He has been a consultant to several organizations in the areas of Marketing and Competitive Strategy.

Professor Sahaf has been member of many professional bodies including All India Management Association, Indian Administrative Management, Indian Society of Agricultural Marketing, Indian Marketing Association, and Indian Institute of Public Administration.
