The Department of Animal Sciences is imparting quality education by focusing to contrive and tabulate our students into good human beings and successful professionals through strategic teaching in theoretical and practical aspects during the course of education. The syllabus as well as the curriculum has been framed as per the UGC guidelines under CBCS scheme keeping in view the market orientation as well as the national standards. In each semester there are Core Courses (CC), Generic Elective Courses (GE) and Ability Enhancement Courses /Skill Enhancement Courses (SEC). In addition Discipline Centric Elective Course (DCE) is offered in the final semester (VI Semester) of the B. Sc. Course.

The role of higher education in sustainable economic and social development increase year by year, and this will continue over the next decades. Higher education can be seen as a focal point of knowledge and its application, an institution which makes a great contribution to the economic growth and development through fostering innovation and increasing higher skills. Keeping in view such a scenario, the department of Animal Sciences also imbibes and inculcates the students with basic fundamentals of applied courses related to the subject such as Aquaculture, Apiculture, Sericulture and Pest Control. Apart, the ability enhancement courses and skill enhancement courses are integrated in such a way that will sensitize the students for their social responsibilities and help them in their personality development, as we believe, that if a sapling is carefully nurtured, it will produce a productive plant bearing delicious fruits.

Modern Education is all about helping the children to realize and explore their potentialities and latent talents. The children represent future hopes and dreams of a country. Students and the teachers work as a team and complement each other’s efforts to get best results. Education is not just a process of giving knowledge for a a future job, but a lifelong process which creates an understanding of moral and ethical values to guide one’s life and make the students good human beings and responsible citizens.

To stay ahead of the curve in new advances in Animal Sciences and its interdisciplinary domains, we strive to have more research intensive faculty recognized as experts and leaders in their field of study who address the problems that directly affect the genesis of knowledge dissemination and effective education, in the best-land grant tradition. Thus, let’s support internal best management, transparent administration and let’s work together with the community. Let us change our self to bring a positive change in the University.

With these words, we wish all inmates of the department a healthy academic and research atmosphere and expect that all will use their given talent and capabilities to contribute in their best ways for academic excellence.
