The Directorate of Students Welfare was established in the year 2014 with the following structure:
1. Director Students Welfare as immediate controlling officer
2. Coordinator Cultural Activities
3. Coordinator Sports
4. Coordinator Extension activities
5. Coordinator Innovation
6. Coordinator for promoting good citizenship
Prior to establishment of the Directorate, the student welfare activities were being looked after by the Students Welfare Officer of the University. Sensing the multi-tasking role in respect of students’ welfare activities, the University created a formal structure of the Directorate with Dr. Fayaz Ahmad Nika as its first Director. At present, Dr. Ihsan-ur-Rahim Malik, Mr. Tasleem Araf Cash, Dr. Mohammad Sayid Bhat, Dr. John K Babu and Mr. Ashaq Hussain Najar are the coordinators for various activities of the Directorate under overall administrative control of the University. The Directorate has the mandate to promote all such activities particularly out of class room as are required for holistic personality development of the students of the University. These activities range from cultural activities to sports, promoting good citizenship, extension activities and innovation and creativity among the students. The objective of the Directorate is to expose the students to an environment where they can demonstrate their patent and latent capabilities and awaken their inner self to make them good human beings. The Directorate has organized various programmes and deputed students for participation in various national events organized at Jarkhand, Lucknow, Bangalore, Greater Noida etc. to expose them to the external environment and hone their capabilities for proper growth.
