VC AUTHORIZES EACH ASST PROF TO RECOMMEND BOOKS WORTH RS 20,000 FOR PURCHASE
Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Mehraj ud Din Mir today authorized the Assistant Professors, both substantive and those working on academic arrangements, to recommend purchase of books worth Rs 20,000 in order to prepare themselves for the next semester.
“These books have shall be purchased according to a format prescribed by the university and the ceiling would get higher if the concerned faculty member is able to justify the procurement of the books,” Prof. Mehraj ud Din said during an interaction with the assistant professors of the University.
Newly nominated Director Research and Development, Prof. Muhammad Aslam who is also, Dean School of Languages, Registrar, Prof. M Afzal Zargar, Controller of Examinations/I/c Finance Officer, Dr. Nazir Ahmad Gilkar were also present on the occasion.
CUK VC said the main aim and objective of holding the interaction was to receive inputs from the young faculty members for further improving the overall functioning of the university. He asked the faculty members to remain punctual and regular in their classes and remain available to the students. “The university is monitoring the working of the faculty members and a feedback mechanism has been devised wherein the students would gauge the performance of the teachers teaching them,” he said adding that the further avenues of the faculty members would also depend on the feedback.
He said the university would facilitate the participation of the faculty members in workshops and conference provided it doesn’t hamper the academic interests of the students.
Director Research and Development, Prof. Muhammad Aslam while speaking on the occasion said the university will ensure that quality research is undertaken by the research scholars as well as faculty members. “Strict monitoring would be done in case of research work,” he said, adding that the university would provide all the facilities to the researchers and faculty members for completing their research.
Registrar, Prof. M Afzal Zargar asked the assistant professors to contribute proactively towards the overall growth and development of the institution. He asked the faculty members to give their best to the students and make the varsity an institution par excellence.
Controller of Examinations/I/c Finance Officer, Dr. Nazir Ahmad Gilkar, discussed the issues pertaining to framing of question papers for the semester examinations.
