CUK holds social service camp for devotees at Kheer Bhawani
Ganderbal, May 26: The Central University of Kashmir (CUK) Tuesday set up a social service camp to serve refreshments to the devotees attending Mela Kheer Bhawani here.
Scores of devotees including women and children thronged the camp established by the CUK, and consumed the refreshment served by the student volunteers.
Speaking on the occasion, CUK officiating Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Mehraj udDin said that as the designated campus of the varsity is in Ganderbal district, the University is humbled to serve the devotees coming from all parts of the country to attend the Mela.
He hailed the volunteers and Directorate of Students Welfare, Director, Dr. Fayaz Ahmad Nikka, for their significant role and effective coordination in providing the refreshment to the devotees.
Describing the camp as a success, CUK Registrar, Prof. M Afzal Zargar said the camps, such as this one, would become a regular feature by the University as part of its Institutional Social Responsibility towards the society. He thanked the district, civil and police administration for their assistance and support.
Other staffers of the University were also present on the occasion.
