IPA Principal Dir delivers lecture on reservation policy
Srinagar, July 30: Institute of Public Administration (IPA) Principal Director, Dr. H S Rana today delivered a comprehensive lecture to the administrative staff of the Central University of Kashmir (CUK) about the Reservation Policy in India, at its Sonwar administrative block.
CUK officiating Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Mehraj udDin, Controller of Examinations, Dr. Nazir A Gilkar, Librarian, Mr. Reyaz Rufaie and other administrative officers were also present on the occasion.
Dr. Rana traced the history of reservation policy and the discussed in detail the aim and objectives of framing the policy by the Government of India. “Upliftment of the weaker, downtrodden, people belonging to different caste, tribes, and those with disabilities was the prime motive of framing the reservation policy in India,” he said, adding that the policy is a permanent feature in Indian constitution.
CUK officiating Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Mehraj udDin, in his address asked Dr. H S Rana to guide and provide valuable suggestions to the University vis-à-vis adopting of the reservation policy in the matters related to vacancies and student admissions.
Controller of Examinations, Dr. Nazir A Gilkar, thanked Dr. Rana for enlightening the participants by tracing the history of reservation in India and subsequent changes adopted by the Government about the same.
Assistant Registrar Administration, Dr. Javed Wani, conducted the programme proceedings.
