Srinagar, Nov 21: Chandigarh University, Vice-Chancellor, Prof. R S Bawa today delivered a special lecture on “Contemporary issues in Indian Economy” in Department of Economics, Central University of Kashmir.

Prof. Bawa highlighted the ‘problems of political decisions’ for framing the economic policies of the country. The guest speaker mentioned that the fruits of demographic dividend have not been exploited as yet. He predicted that in future we may get encountered by the problem of aged population, because majority of the people will become aged in future for whom there is no social security measures taken. In addition to that, the guest speaker touched various burning issues like employment, poverty, social security and literacy confronted by Indian economy in contemporary times.

Earlier, HoD Economics, Prof. G.M. Bhat, highlighted the contributions of Prof. Bawa’s academic life.
