CUK’s Law school holds medical camp
Srinagar, Nov 17: School of Legal Studies, Central University of Kashmir (CUK) in collaboration with a Non-Government Organization, “Shelter Aid Australia” today organized a free medical camp for the students, faculty and the administrative staff at varsity’s Nowgam academic block.
CUK officiating Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Mehraj-ud-Din inaugurated the camp while as Registrar, Prof. M. Afzal Zargar, and Mrs. Afshana, patron of “Shelter Aid Australia” were present on the occasion.
The camp was organized in the backdrop of the devastating floods which ravaged Jammu and Kashmir in September. All the three academic campuses were affected during floods. As many as six doctors of the “Shelter Aid Australia” examined more than 500 students and staff members of the university. Free of cost medicines were also given to the students and the staff.
Officiating Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Mehraj-ud-Din and Registrar, Prof. M Afzal Zargar hailed the NGO for conducting the medical camp and providing free medicines to those who were found ailing after the medical checkup.
“Shelter Aid Australia in collaboration with The Law Society, CUK has done a commendable job by organizing the camp,” said Dr. Sheikh Showkat Hussain, Head Department of Law, who is the patron of The Law Society.
