Srinagar, June 27: ITC, one of the India’s premier Fast Moving Consumer Goods (FMCG) Company with a market capitalization of US $ 45 Billion and a turnover of US $ 7 billion has recruited two MBA students from the Central University of Kashmir (CUK) through campus placement, with a lucrative annual package. The event marks the start of the campus recruitment drive for 2011-2013 batch of the students of the Department of Management Studies of the University. According to Mr. Zia-ul-Haq, Training and Placement Officer at the Department, several big companies are expected to visit the campus this summer for placements. Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Abdul Wahid and Registrar, Dr. Abdul Gani complimented the Department of Management Studies, especially the HOD, Dr. Farooq Ahmad Shah and TPO for their efforts in ensuring the placement of students in the top notch multi-national companies. About the achievement, Dr. Farooq Ahmad Shah said that ITC has also selected four students from MBA-II Semester for internship with a good stipend. He said the university administration is committed to provide all possible support to the Training and Placement Centre of the Department for enhancing employment opportunities of the students through campus placements. Pertinent to mention here that the Training and Placement Centre of the Department has formulated a stringent assessment system for extending invitation to the corporate houses for internship and placements. To maintain the standard of its alumni, the TPC has set a minimum acceptable salary package for its students and as such only the reputed companies are invited for campus placements. The Training and Placement Centre has also received a large number of paid internship requests from companies like, Cosmic Group, ITC, SBI, Bombay Stock Exchange etc.
