Panel framed for fee concessions for flood hit students: CUK V-C
Srinagar, Nov 13: The Central University of Kashmir (CUK) officiating Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Mehraj-ud-Din today constituted a panel to explore the possibility to review the semester examination fee of those students whose families had been hit by recent floods in Jammu and Kashmir.
The university having received several applications from the students of different departments, for waiver of fees discussed the matter today in a meeting of VC with the class representatives of various departments at CUK’s academic block at Nowgam. The officiating Vice-Chancellor asked the committee to come up with the recommendations urgently so that it can be placed before appropriate bodies for immediate relief.
Various Deans, HODs, Coordinators, Registrar, Controller of Examination were among other present on the occasion.
Prof. Mehraj-ud-Din emphasized upon the students for active participation in academic and extracurricular activities across the country. He passed various instructions for bettering the service to the University students including giving basic and state-of-the-art technologies. The Vice-Chancellor informed the students about the grievance redressal mechanism for which a committee has already been made.
Acknowledging that the University has to make extra efforts on campus development front, he underlined some of the difficulties faced by the University in this regard.
Registrar, Prof. M Afzal Zargar detailed about the slew of measures taken by the administration in strengthening the support for academia and students.
