Dy GM-Air India delivers special lecture to CUK students
Srinagar, Oct 21: Deputy General Manager-Air India, Mr. Mohammad Iqbal Dar delivered a special lecture on “Aviation and its Job Perspectives” to the students of the Department of Tourism Studies, Central University of Kashmir (CUK) here.
Mr. Iqbal gave details about the operations of Air India and the need of professionals in this sector. He presented an overview about the aviation sector of India in general and Kashmir in particular.
Mr. Iqbal stressed upon the students to improve the professional standards and asked them be more focussed on career. He also shared his job experiences, which enhanced the vision and perspective of the students. Mr. Iqbal discussed various challenges and obstacles faced by freshers in the airline profession and the measures to tackle them.
Deputy GM-Air India, asked the student community to be pro-active, especially in today’s age of Facebook & Internet. A question-answer session followed the lecture.
Earlier, the guest was introduced to the students by the Head, Department of Tourism Studies, Prof. S. Fayyaz Ahmad. A brief profile of Mr. Iqbal was presented by Mr. Faizan Ashraf Mir, faculty member of the Department. Mr Iqbal besides being the Deputy GM of Air India is having an Additional Charge of Station Manager-Srinagar. He has an experience of 26 years in Aviation industry and has been a member of various National level Committees like Crisis Management Group of India, Foreign Dignitaries team, Hajj Committees of Delhi etc.
The lecture ended with the vote of thanks by Mr. Faizan Ashraf Mir. The event was coordinated and organised by the Training & Placement Coordinator of the Department, Mr. Ashaq Hussain Najar.
