CUK's DMS holds campus placements
Srinagar, July 30: The Department of Management Studies (DMS), Central University of Kashmir (CUK) made an impressive start of its Campus Placements for the academic session 2015-16. During the session’s first placement drive, around 15 MBA 4th semester students were hired by reputed national and international companies.
Earth Infrastructures Ltd., PNB MetLife, KashmirBox.com and INDI Design, have issued job offers to almost 15 students of DMS. Of the 15 jobs, eight came from Earth Infrastructures Ltd, five from PNB MetLife, one from INDI Design, while KashmirBox.com offered two jobs.
The average package offered by the hiring companies’ range from Rs 3 lakh to 5 lakh per annum. The companies selected the students on basis of an interaction followed by group discussion and a rigorous interview round. The first phase of current year’s campus placement program was attended by 30 students. “I am humbled by the trust that the top companies have reposed on us by choosing our students to augment their HR pool”, said Prof. Mehraj-ud-Din, officiating Vice-Chancellor, who personally interacted with the students and company representatives. “Our graduates are well equipped with diverse skills, and their two year meaningful stay at CUK has helped them to boost their capabilities and eye on the cherished career paths”, he added.
More companies are expected to visit the campus for recruitment this year. To mention a few ICICI Bank, Aspiring Minds and Axis Bank are lined up. “CUK MBA students would be placed in companies of high repute because we try to prepare them beyond the structured curriculum by encouraging industry interface through guest lectures, industrial visits and project work.” Said, Prof. Abdul Gani, Dean and Head DMS.
The corporate representatives involved in campus placements were thrilled by the attitude and competence of students. “CUK has really worked hard in grooming the students in accordance with the requirements of the corporate sector. The selected students were excited by the offers from the companies. “To have a job of your choice, carrying an attractive package immediately after the completion of your degree is something you would be thrilled at and now I am ready to take the first flight in the skies of vast opportunities”, said a student who has been offered job offers both in PNB MetLife and KashmirBox.com.
