CUK VC inaugurates 3-day lecture series
Srinagar, Oct 27: Central University of Kashmir (CUK) Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Mehraj ud Din Mir today inaugurated the three day lecture series organised by the varsity’s Department of Mathematics at Nowgam-I academic block.
Prof. Abdul Gani, Dean School of Physical and Chemical Sciences (I/c), Prof. M. A. Sofi from Department of Mathematics, University of Kashmir, Prof. C S Arvinda from the Center for applicable Mathematics TIFR Bangalore, and Prof. M Afzal Zargar, Registrar CUK, were among other faculty members and students present on the occasion.

Addressing the gathering, Prof. Mehraj ud Din Mir said the prime objective of holding the lecture series is to keep the students abreast and updated with latest advances in the field of Mathematics and its applications in other disciplines. CUK VC also hailed the department for organizing the lectures.
Prof. M Afzal Zargar also appreciated the efforts of the department and advised the faculty members to organize more such lectures for the benefit of the students in near future.
During these three days, eminent mathematicians will cover a variety of topics in Mathematics as well as their applications.
