Invites application for admission to PG, PG diploma and research progs
Srinagar, Apr 6: The Central University of Kashmir (CUK) has taken a lead in starting integrated courses in Science stream in Jammu and Kashmir by launching integrated B.Sc-M.Sc programmes in Physics, Zoology and Biotechnology.
The eligibility criteria for integrated B.Sc-M.Sc in Physics is minimum 50 per cent aggregate marks or its equivalent on Grading Scale of respective Boards/ Universities (45 per cent for SC/ST/PwD candidates) at 10+2 level with Physics as one of the subjects, while as the eligibility for integrated B.Sc-M.Sc in Zoology is minimum 50 per cent aggregate marks or its equivalent on Grading Scale of respective Boards/ Universities (45 per cent for SC/ST/PwD candidates) at 10+2 level with Biology/Zoology as one of the subjects. The candidates possessing minimum 50 per cent aggregate marks or its equivalent on Grading Scale of respective Boards/ Universities (45 per cent for SC/ST/PwD candidates) at 10+2 level with Biology/Biotechnology/Biochemistry as one of the subject can apply for integrated B.Sc-M.Sc in Biotechnology.
“The main aim and objective of starting the integrated courses is to train the students in a particular subject at a very young age so that they can excel in it accordingly,” officiating Vice-Chancellor. Prof. Mehraj udDin said.
The University has also invited online applications for newly launched Post-Graduate Diploma courses in Information Security & e-Governance, Cyber Forensics & e-Governance, Online Journalism, Human Rights & Social Justice, Aviation & Hospitality Management and Guidance & Counseling.
The admission process to the Post-Graduate Programmes in Information Technology, English, Urdu, Tourism Management, Convergent Journalism, Mathematics, Economics, Education, Political Science, LLM, M.Ed and Integrated B.A L.L.B (5 year course) has also begun while as the admission to research programmes (Integrated MPhil/Ph.D) in Management Studies, Education, English, Tourism Management, Economics and Mathematics has also started. The process for admission to Ph.D in Law has also begun.
The admission to the above programmes along with those offered by seven other participating Central Universities, would be made on the basis of Central Universities Common Entrance Test (CUCET) to be conducted jointly by the Central Universities of Kashmir, Jammu, Punjab ,Jharkhand, Kerala, Rajasthan, Tamil Nadu and Haryana at various centres located across the country.
The Candidates shall have to apply Online through CUCET website www.cucet2015.co.in. The offline application will not be accepted.
The candidates awaiting final result in qualifying examination can also apply. The reservation of seats shall be as per Government of India norms.
