Officiating Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Mehraj udDin, Registrar, Prof. M Afzal Zargar, Controller of Examinations, Dr. Nazir A Gilkar, Deans of various Schools, Heads and Coordinators of different departments and other faculty members would be present.

Head Department of Higher and Professional Education (DHPE) NUEPA, Prof. Sudhanshu Bhushan, invited as a subject expert, would present a talk on “Examinations and Evaluation Reforms: Changing Priorities with special reference to NEP-2015 proposals.”

Giving details about the scheduled event, Controller of Examinations, Dr. Nazir A Gilkar said the workshop is being organized with a view to achieve the objectives including: introspect and improve upon further examination and evaluation system;  provide necessary space for interaction to the faculty across all Teaching Departments; avail an opportunity to listen to an eminent educationist in the country; to consider various educational-examination-assessment issues and learn from experiences and exposures; and to ensure that valued outcome of the workshop deliberations is utilized effectively during the course of forthcoming end semester examinations.

The workshop, he said would spread over two full length modules and a session shall comprise four micro-presentations. These presentations would be made on Choice Based Credit System and Assessment: Trends & Issues, while as during micro sessions, presentations would be made on Teaching Evaluation: Student Reflection; Online Submission & Evaluation: with reference to Research Dissertation; Switch over to Grading System: Rationale and Project Report Evaluation.

Worthwhile to mention here that the workshops conducted post–ESEs had far reaching academic implications by setting a trend toward creating a culture of best practices in the university.

“The present workshop, third in the series, is also expected to act as a morale booster for the faculty and staff associated with the examinations and evaluation. Further, by organizing such a workshop, a requirement under NAAC is also fulfilled,” Dr. Gilkar added.
