CUK launches M. P.Ed Programme at Ganderbal Campus
Ganderbal, Oct 5: The Central University of Kashmir (CUK) today launched Masters in Physical Education (M.P.Ed) programme in the campus-V of the varsity at erstwhile Physical Education College here.
Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Mehraj ud Din Mir, Registrar, Prof. M Afzal Zargar, Principal, Physical Education College, Dr. Hartej Singh, Director of the Campus, Prof. Nighat Basu, Dean Students Welfare, Dr. Fayaz A Nikka, faculty members of the varsity and college and the newly admitted students for the course were also present on the occasion.
Addressing the gathering, Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Mehraj ud Din Mir thanked Dr. Hartej Singh, for extending full support and cooperation to the varsity for launching the programme. He said the Physical College management has always been on the forefront whenever the varsity has sought any help and guidance in framing the curriculum and other related matters. Prof. Mir announced setting up of a browsing centre at the College for the students of both the Central University and the Physical Education College.
Principal, Physical Education College, Dr. Hartej Singh, while speaking on the occasion, assured the Vice-Chancellor of providing all possible support in running the programme smoothly. He said the College would also provide sports equipment to the students for their practical.
Registrar, Prof. M Afzal, also expressed his gratitude to the management of the Physical College for extending support in launching the programme. He also highlighted the role of sports and physical exercise for the wellbeing of the individuals.
Director of the Campus, Prof. Nighat Basu and Dean Students Welfare, Dr. Fayaz A Nikka also addressed the gathering and said the physical education was essential for the overall development of the youth. Associate Professor, Dr Syed Zahoor Geelani proposed the vote of thanks.
