Srinagar, Mar 1: Central University of Kashmir (CUK) Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Mehraj ud Din Mir today launched the three year B. Voc programme in Tourism and Hospitality Management at the Nowgam-I academic block of the varsity.
The programme run by the Department of Tourism Studies is funded by the University Grants Commission (UGC). The department conducted the induction and orientation programme for the students wherein the Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Mehraj ud Din Mir, Dean and Head, School of Business Studies, Department of Tourism Studies Prof S. Fayyaz Ahmad, Registrar, Prof. M Afzal Zargar, and Nodal officer, Mr. Ashaq Hussain were present.
Interacting with the students, Prof. Mehraj ud Din Mir highlighted the importance and significance of the skill based courses in the present scenario of growing unemployment. Prof. Mir also praised the department for its efforts in launching the programme.
Registrar, Prof. Afzal Zargar also interacted with the students and deliberated upon the innovative nature of the course and its future prospects.
