CUK Celebrates International Women's Day 2020

: CUK observed the international Women’s day on 8th March 2020 on the theme “Each for Equal". Dr.Himabindu in her welcome address stated that the objective of the event was to raise awareness on gender equality, women empowerment and women’s role in achieving sustainable development . On the occasion, chairperson women empowerment committee CUK, Prof. Parveen Pandit presented her special address and highlighted many unaddressed issues about women, motivated gathering to take active part in challenging the stereotypes, fight bias, broaden perceptions, improve situations and celebrate women’s achievement. The students from various Departments of the Green campus took part in the seminar and highlighted the issues related to women. The paper presentation session was judged by Prof. Abdul Gani of Management Studies and Prof. Nighat Basu of School of Education. The seminar was followed by a role play on the theme ‘Sexual Harassment’ by the students of various departments of Green Campus. The honourable vice chancellor Prof. Mehraj-ud-din Mir appreciated the efforts put forward by the students and urged the gathering to ensure gender equality.
