80 % candidates out of 10,811 appear in CUCET-2016 at Sgr centre
Srinagar, May 22: Out of 10,811 candidates who had applied for Central Universities Common Entrance Test (CUCET-2016), about 80 per cent appeared in the entrance examination at the Srinagar centres on May 21 and 22, respectively for admission to various Undergraduate, Postgraduate and Research Programmes offered by the Central University of Kashmir (CUK) and other fellow Universities across India.

The Central Universities of Kashmir, Jammu, Jharkhand, Kerala, Karnataka, Punjab, Rajasthan, Tamil Nadu and Haryana were the participating varsities for the entrance test, which was conducted at three academic blocks of the CUK and other designated centres here.

The programmes offered by the Central University of Kashmir included: Integrated B.A LLB/B.Com LLB (5 year course), Post-Graduate Programmes in M. Tech Information Technology, English, Urdu, Tourism and Travel Management, Convergent Journalism, Mathematics, Economics, Education, Political Science, LLM, M.Ed, M.A Comparative Religion; B.VOC Programmes in Retail and Logistic Management and  Tourism and Hospitality Management; Post-Graduate Diploma Programmes in Information Security and e-Governance, Cyber forensic and e-Governance, Guidance and Counseling, Translation; Integrated BSc/MSc Programmes in Physics, Zoology, Biotechnology, Mathematics and Integrated MPhil/Ph.D in Management Studies, Urdu and Tourism Management

The CUK faculty, officers and their allied staff and observers nominated from other institutions including University of Kashmir were actively involved in the examination process which was hassle free, smooth and fair.

 

Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Mehraj ud Din Mir, Registrar, Prof. Muhammad Afzal Zargar and Controller of Examinations, Dr. Nazir A Gilkar, took stock of the examination process during their visit to various centers. They were satisfied with the conduct of the examination and hailed the staff for successfully conducting the entrance tests for both the days.
