CUK, CUJ condole demise of Jenab Mufti Muhammad Sayeed
Srinagar, Jan 7: The Central University of Kashmir (CUK) and Central University of Jammu (CUJ) today conducted a joint condolence meet at their respective campuses to mourn the sad demise of the Chief Minister of Jammu and Kashmir, Jenab Mufti Muhammad Sayeed Sb, who expired on Thursday morning at All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS), New Delhi.
CUJ Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Ashok Aima and CUK Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Mehraj ud Din, Registrars, Prof. M Afzal Zargar and Prof. Jeet Singh, faculty members, non-teaching fraternity of both the universities were present during the condolence meet. The speakers on the occasion paid glowing tributes to the departed soul and described Jenab Mufti Muhammad Sayeed as a great visionary. His death is a great loss to the State of J&K, as well as to both the Universities in particular. The universities acknowledged the tremendous contribution made by this great son of the soil for the development of both these central universities.
The condolence meet ended with prayers to the departed soul. After the condolence, all the examinations for the day were postponed and the university was also closed for the day.
