5-day Personal Contact Programme for CUK adminn staff begins
Srinagar, Dec 4: The five-day Personal Contact Programme (PCP) for the trainees, from the administrative staff of the Central University of Kashmir (CUK) and Central Silk Board, Pampore, registered for Prabodh, Praveen and Pragya respectively, under Hindi teaching scheme, began at Nowgam-II administrative cum academic block of the varsity here Monday.
Dean School of Education and Director Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC), Prof. N A Nadeem in the presence of Central Hindi Training Institute (CHTI), Deputy Director, Ms. Veena Sharma and Assistant Director, Ms. Daljeet Kaur, Finance Officer, Mr. Bashir Ahmad Haji and Hindi Adhikari, Ms Sakeena Akhter, inaugurated the programme, organised by the Rajbhasha Cell of the varsity.
Addressing the gathering, Prof. N A Nadeem said the languages does not belong to any particular religious belief and cannot be associated with any specific community or region. “Languages are universal and we should not be prejudiced towards any particular language,” Prof. Nadeem said. He also deliberated threadbare about the intimate relationship between the languages and cultures of the States and asked the participants to develop capacity and learn more and more languages.
Finance Officer, Mr. Bashir Ahmad Haji also spoke on the occasion and hailed the Rajbhasha Cell for organizing the training programme. He underscored the need of learning more and more languages, other than mother tongue and official languages.
Central Hindi Training Institute, Deputy Director, Ms. Veena Sharma, while speaking on the occasion, seconded the remarks made by Prof. N A Nadeem and urged the participants to learn other languages with zeal and zest. She asked them to evince keen interest in the lectures to be delivered during the programme and clarify doubts and mistakes with regard to the use of Hindi, both in writing and speaking.
