2-day food cum cultural fest ends in CUK
Srinagar, Jan 3: The two day food cum cultural festival organized by the Directorate of Students Welfare (DSW) in collaboration with the School of Business Studies (SBS), Central University of Kashmir (CUK) at Nowgam-I academic block of the varsity culminated hereTuesday.

Dean School of Business Studies, Prof. S. Fayyaz, Head of the Department, MBA, Prof. Farooq Ahmad Shah, Director DSW, Dr. Fayaz A Nikka, cricketer Samiullah Beigh, faculty members and students were present at the valedictory function.

Speaking on the occasion, Dean School of Business Studies, Prof. S. Fayyaz, congratulated and praised the students for successfully organizing the festival. Prof. S Fayyaz described the festival as innovative and inspiring and said the team work displayed by the students was exemplary. He said the main objective of holding the festival was to provide a platform to the students to show their entrepreneurial and managerial skills.  

Complimenting the students for holding the mega event, Head of the Department, MBA, Prof. Farooq Ahmad Shah, said the university would organize more such events in near future. “This time only students from two departments were involved in the fest, but the university will ensure participation of students from every department in the next food cum cultural festival,” he said.

While speaking on the occasion, Director DSW, Dr Fayaz A Nikka, thanked the Vice-Chancellor, faculty members, students and other administrative staff for their support and cooperation in making the event a huge success. He said the students displayed camaraderie during the event and managed it with utmost proficiency. He asked the students to keep up the spirits and prove their mettle in the field after passing out from the varsity.

Cricketer Samiullah Beigh described the festival as remarkable. He lauded the students for their live performances and handling of food stalls and appreciated the faculty for supporting the students’ idea of hosting the food and cultural festival.

Assistant Professor, Department of Management Studies, Ms. Insha Farooq conducted the programme proceedings while as Mr. Mohsin, student from the MBA department presented the vote of thanks.
