A warm and affectionate welcome to the Central University of Kashmir, a pleasant addition to the network of higher education institutions in the J&K State. As is well known, Kashmir has had a rich tradition of knowledge and scholarship. Not long long ago, as a reputed Centre of learning Kashmir drew scholars from various parts of the world and produced thinkers, philosophers and poets of international repute.

The location of the campus of our University is yet to be identified and notified. Pending that decision, the University is in the process of preparing relevant statutes, regulations and ordinances for consideration by its competent authorities as and when they meet in the near future. The University is also in the process of identifying the areas of study in which it would like to launch various academic programmes in coming academic session. It has already decided to launch Masters Degree Programmes in English Language & Literature, Information Technology and Management Studies.

The University will earnestly take all steps to have competent faculty and provide excellent infrastructure as also most conducive learning environment to ensure that it effectively attains its lofty objectives and soon emerges as a reputed institution of higher learning in this part of the country. We are determined to work hard and work with passion to achieve excellence. In this endeavour we seek support and co-operation from all the stakeholders. On our part, we extend them best wishes.
